Mom and dad (Clyde & MaryLou Matthews) are a bit technically challenged, LOL! I'm keeping them updated. Dad ran into someone from the team recently who asked if he'd be bringing the Bloody Marys to the reunion. I'm sure it will be that or the Swamp Water he always made. Ha Ha! Not at FCC! There wasn't a life guard chair at the start line!

As I remember it the 8 and under and 9 and under (25 meter races) started at that end of the pool that had the lifeguard chair and ended in the 3 foot water so the judges and timers wouldn't have to switch ends. We did have time trials at FCC one year. 76 I think.

Any thoughts of inviting the College Heights folks to the party? Might be fun to see some Thorsteads, Ingebretsens, Roulleys, etc. and get stories from the other side of the battle lines! Just a thought.

I bet the swimmer if the photo is Anne Humphries......and there are multible colored swimsuits so I am thinking it is a all-start or multi-meet invitational of some kind. Not our pool, cannot be dalgren, college hieghts, pleasant valley as this is the non-timer's end and they did not have deep ends on that side. Betcha it is Spotswood as I see the score tent behind the fence. Has to be a relay too...and I guess you want me to tell ya'll who won too?

I am thinking that it is at the CC (I don't remember a wooded area at Spotswood but we did down by the pump room) against Dalgren (didn't they have the dark blue suits?) and that it is a 25 meter swim ( as there is no-one in the water touching the wall) so it means the swimmers were likely 10 and unders as they seem too big to be 8 and under. Then again, my memory isn't what it used to be.

I live is spotsy, Sherry is in stafford and Sue is in Westmoreland. Mel is in spotsy also and still plays golf. He has not hit any more windshields lately! I will look for old pics next time I am at his house.

I live in Bryant, Arkansas....just outside Little Rock and work at the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory doing the "CSI" thing with latent prints, tire/shoe comparisons and some firearms stuff. And we hate CSI. And the only "little swimmers" I would have is my three grandkids! Arkansas does not have swim leagues like the east and west coast so all of my four kids missed out.

And as far as teammates go that I have not seen a post on: Hunter Adams, Sharon Murphy, Mark Sitz...and have not a clue where they are today.

Bobby..Mark is in Delaware..He and I dive all the time..just did Grand Cayman this past Feb...Hunter is in Boston..I sent him a copy of the FLS article...He'll be on soon..I bet..As for Sharon..I have no clue..someone out there knows...jim

Great! I sent mark a deal on facebook. I don't know if anybody ever beat Hunter's backstoke records unless Phelps swam in RSL! I told Mark that I dont think I remember anyone beating us in relay with me, Billy, Hunter or Mark......probably wrong. I saw where RSL is still alive but no FCC.

and I am gonna be at my mom's this weekend and she is already looking for pictures. Nice to find one of our dad as "starter, the FBI guy" I know there is one of mom as "timer woman" somewhere!
